Believe it or not spring has already ended and summer is here. June 21st marked the first day of summer and now is the perfect time to shop for the warmer weather. So what is trendy for children’s wear this summer? Tropical Hawaiian wear, bright bold colors, and lots of flowers! All of these are symbolic of summer and perhaps why it has remained popular year after year. So before you run out shopping learn what’s current to keep your little one fashionable all through summer:
1. Flowers- Big bold patterns of flowers or small floral print are very popular. Little girls can find matching floral dresses to look just like mommy. Short or long girls’ Hawaiian dresses are perfect for the summer weather and can easily be thrown over as a cover-up. This trend also works for boys with flowers on their swim trunks and Hawaiian shirts.
2. Bright bold color- Bright colors are in for 2013! Neon colors that were in when we were children are back and so popular. Bright yellows, pinks, and orange are also very “hot” for summer wear. Girls can find many of these colors in Hawaiian dresses and get the extra bonus of having floral print along with the bright color…oh so fashionable.
3. Pastel colors- Just as neon colors are in; pastels are also trendy this summer. Colors like mint green; light shades of yellow, and pink look good on dresses or floral tops for your little girl.
4. Boys cabana sets- Nothing says summer like a cute toddler cabana set. The Hawaiian shirts with matching shorts are always a favorite choice for boys summer wear. You can find a variety of prints from floral to surfboards whatever your little boy likes you can find it in a cabana set.
5. Flip flops/sandals-During the summer kids go from inside to out and spend a lot of time at the beach and pool so an absolute must have is easy to wear flip flops. Some come with designs and others in different colors but my personal favorite is the classic black.
Just remember kids fashion can be more fun, bold and creative than adult fashion. Play with different colors and prints but never forget the most important factor for your child, being comfortable!
