With proper and gentile care, your hand made Hawaiian clothes will last many years to enjoy them. It is best not to combine bright colored apparel and silk or linen shirts in your washing machine. Use cold water and gentile cycle for lasting fabric colors. Dry cleaning in many cases should give you the best results in keeping the quality of your Hawaiian apparel. If you use a dryer, use low-hit settings and keep track of the time to dry. Set the dryer timer to the time you found to be correct. Of course, line dry is always best and nature friendly. If you prefer to
wash your Hawaii apparel by hand, separate by liked colors, use cold water and mild soap. It is not advisable to leave the clothes soaking for too long. This is especially true for your white fabrics with colored images. Do not use strong soap or detergent on your rayon shirts. Do not use bleach with any of your Hawaiian wear. Use cool iron or steam at the proper settings for cotton, rayon, silk or linen to remove wrinkles. Poly cotton blend aloha shirts are typically wrinkled free.
Please note that clothes washed in hot water will normally lose their gleam and shine after several washes. Also, hot water as well as hot drying will shrink the garment. It is made from purified cellulose, primarily from wood pulp, which is chemically converted into a soluble compound. Rayon fabric is considered to be semi-synthetic and breathable. Specific types of rayon include viscose and modal, each of which differs in manufacturing process and properties of the finished product. What is Silk?
Silk is a natural protein fiber, some forms of which can be woven into textiles. The protein fiber of silk is mainly produced by certain insect larvae to form cocoons. The shimmering appearance of silk is due to the triangular prism-like structure of the silk fiber, which allows silk cloth to refract incoming light at different angles, thus producing different colors. Silks are produced by several other insects, but generally only the silk of moth caterpillars has been used for textile manufacturing.
